Which bin size do you need?

There are 3 bin sizes avaiable for free rental & delivery with Waste Managed.

These are the 240l, 660l & 1100l commercial bins.

When choosing the right size for your business you should consider the following:

  • type of waste (general, recycling, food, cardboard)
  • waste output (how many bags of waste you produce)
  • frequency of collections (weekly, or fortnightly)
  • storage space (do you have room for a larger bin on site?)

Before selecting a bin size, it is important for business owners to also choose the correct waste type. Waste collectors can refuse to collect bins that have been cross-contaminated as this can result in fines.

Choose the right size bin for your business

If you are already producing waste then you can enter the amount of waste bags & waste type into the calculator below to find a recommended bin size.

This is to help you estimate your ideal bin size to ensure that you can safely manage your waste while remaining under weight limits. If you exceed the weight limit the collection can be refused.

We advise choosing a size above if you are unsure.

You can always switch to a smaller bin later if you need to.

How can I check the size of my current bin?

Know where to look on the bin itself for the size information.

It’s usually printed on the bin during manufacturing and will include details like the manufacturer, the bin’s size in litres, and the maximum weight it can hold.

The location of this information can vary depending on the bin model, but you’ll typically find it on the top, rim, or bottom of the bin.
